The Young Conservatives were the youth wing of Britain's Conservative Party.
They were founded after the Conservative Party had suffered a catastrophic defeat in the 1945 general election. The movement attracted a large following partly as a result of its social activities. In 1955 it could claim a membership of 150000 and was the largest political youth movement in a liberal democracy.
They were replaced in 1998 by Conservative Future.
