In 1992, Mazda launched a luxury car marque in Europe called Xedos. It was a companion for the Japan-market Eunos marque and the (never launched) North American Amati. This diversification plan fizzled, and Xedos lasted until 2000 with just two vehicles. These were sold at existing Mazda dealerships.
