The
Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service (often truncated to
NYU Wagner or simply
Wagner) is a professional school of
public service at
New York University. The school offers advanced degrees in public and nonprofit management and policy, health policy and management, and urban planning, geared towards preparing people for upper-level management roles in public, nonprofit, and health institutions as well as private organizations serving the public sector. Established in
1938 as the
Graduate School of Public Administration, the school was named for
Robert Ferdinand Wagner, Jr. in
1989. Wagner is the largest school of public service in the
United States.
Wagner is housed on the second and third floors of the Puck Building, a well-known New York City landmark, in the city's SoHo neighborhood.
