Vere Johns was active as an impresario and radio personality in Jamaica in the early 1960s, along with Clement "Coxsone" Dodd. He was a discoverer of young talent. He hosted the "Vere John's Opportunity Knocks Talent Show" on RJR Radio, Jamaica.
