Ustad Amir Khan

Ustad Amir Khan (1912-1974), born in a family of musicians in Indore, India, was a well-known Hindustani classical vocalist.

He developed his own singing style and helped popularise taranas. Besides singing in concerts, he also sang film songs based on ragas, most notably for the films Baiju Bawra and Kshudhita Pashan . He died a premature death in a car accident in Calcutta on February 13, 1974
