Trident Ploughshares is an internationally recognised anti-nuclear-weapons group, with the aim of "beating swords into ploughshares", specifically by actively trying to disarm the UK Trident nuclear weapons system, in a non-violent, open, peaceful and fully accountable manner. Much of the action (involving all types of civil disobedience and many convictions for "Breach of the Peace") takes place at Faslane Naval Base.
Trident Ploughshares founder Angie Zelter was a recipient in 2001 of the Right Livelihood award, often called the "Alternative Nobel Prize".
