Assemblyman Tran Thai Van (Trần Thái Văn) a devout anti-communist, is the first Vietnamese American elected to the state of California legislature and is the highest elected Vietnamese-American in the United States.
Tran Thai Van attended the University of California and earned a B.A. in Political Science and a Masters degree in Public Administration. He then attended Hamline University and earned a law degree.
