The Lilac Domino

The Lilac Domino is an operetta, first performed at Leipzig on February 3, 1912. The libretto is by Emmerich von Gatti and Béla Jenbach , with music by Charles Cuvillier .

When the operetta transferred to Broadway in 1914, it was in an English version by Harry and Robert B. Smith with additional songs by Howard Carr and Donovan Parsons . It opened at the 44th Street Theatre on October 28 and ran for 113 performances.

It was first performed in London in 1918. It opened at the Empire Theatre on February 21 and ran for 747 performances.


The plot concerns three young men who seek a wealthy bride in order to repay their gambling debts.
