Temporisation

Temporisation, French Latin for "timesening", is taking measures to get or let more time—to lengthen one's time—as by negotiation, filibuster, evasion, or defense. It is usually called "delay tactics " in English. In French, however, temporisation is interchangeable with procrastination.
