Taufiq Rafat became known in Pakistani English reading circles during 1960's and 1970's. He grew up in Punjab, attended various schools, and wrote poetry in English. He has been read widely in the Indian subcontinent. Born in the 1930s he died in Lahore in the late 1990's. His first poetry book called Collected Poems was published in middle 1980's. He published one more book of English poetry during 1990's. His translations of Punjabi poetry into English verses received mixed reviews.
