Solvec

History

Solvec, sometimes referred to as Salvec, is an agricultural land owned by the Navarro-Soliven family. Don Gregorio Navarro recieved it as compensation for his efforts to colonize the Philippines. It is around 500 hectors (equivalent to the size of half of Manhattan, New York) including two mountains and a beach. In 1942, the Japanese Admiral stayed at Solvec after invading the Philippines in World War II. As a consequence, the government of the Philippines has tried on numerous occasions to confiscate the land for historical purposes to no avail. Solvec is currently owned by Charles Henry Navarro de Silva, the first sole owner since Don Gregorio Navarro.
