The Socialist Party of Ukraine (Ukrainian: Sotsialistychna Partiya Ukrainy) is a political party in Ukraine, one of the oldest (registered in late 1990). It has 24 of 450 seats in the Verkhovna Rada, and its candidate for the 1999 presidential elections, Oleksander Moroz, came third, with 11.3% of the vote in the first round. Oleksander Moroz also participated in 2004 presidential elections; he also came third, and subsequently transferred his support to Viktor Yuschenko for the ultimately disputed run-off ballot.
