Shawnee State University is a public university located in Portsmouth, Ohio. Founded in 1975, the university offers undergraduate degrees from its 4 schools. Shawnee State enrolls about 2,500 full time and about 700 part time students.
The university's 50 acre (200,000 m²) campus is located in a small town about 90 miles (145 km) south of Columbus.
