Seabiscuit is a drama starring Tobey Maguire, Chris Cooper and Jeff Bridges. The movie was based on Seabiscuit: An American Legend, Laura Hillenbrand's best-selling account of the life and racing career of Seabiscuit, an undersized and overlooked thoroughbred race horse whose unexpected successes made him a popular sensation in the United States near the end of the Great Depression.
Seabiscuit was nominated for several Academy Awards in 2004, including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, Best Editing, Best Costume Design, and Best Sound.
