Samuel Wilson

Samuel Wilson (Uncle Sam) (September 13, 1766 - 1854) was a U.S. meat inspector in Troy, New York. He was born in historic Menotomy Massachusetts, and monument now marks his birthplace in Arlington, Massachusetts. He is alleged to be the source of the nickname "Uncle Sam" for the U.S..
