Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines

Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is a communauté d'agglomération in the French département of Yvelines. It a new town named after the Saint Quentin Pond, which was chosen to become the town's centre. In 2003, the metropolitan area had a population of 145,966. It is part of the much larger Paris metropolitan area.

The communauté d'agglomération is made up of seven communes:

  • Élancourt
  • Guyancourt
  • Magny-les-Hameaux
  • Montigny-le-Bretonneux
  • Trappes
  • La Verričre
  • Voisins-le-Bretonneux

Of these communes, Montigny-le-Bretonneux is the most centrally located and has the largest population.

The population of the whole communauté d'agglomération has grown almost tenfold in the last 40 years, from a population of 15,118 in 1962.

Its president is Robert Cadalbert .
