Rote Flora

Rote Flora ('Red Flora') is a former theatre built in 1855 in Hamburg which was squatted in November 1989 when plans were made to make it a musical theatre. The squatters and those who made use of the building during the following years installed a cultural and social centre for autonomous leftwing groups and individuals.

At the moment there is a 10-year contract between the owner who bought the building in 2001 from the city of Hamburg and the association 'Rote Flora e.V.' which grants their right of further use until 2011.
