Ralph's Spot

Ralph's Spot was a studio where Ralph Bakshi produced and directed animated cartoons for three years beginning in 1968. It was located at 250 West 57th Street in New York City. Many episodes of the Spider-Man and Rocket Robin Hood animated television series were made here, along with some advertisements. Artists such as Gray Morrow, James Steranko , Joe Kubert, Paul Coker , Richard H. Thomas and Peter Max worked at this studio, which eventually began work on Fritz the Cat. In mid-production, a dispute with the Cartoonists Union drove Bakshi to Los Angeles, California. There, he finished Fritz the Cat and did much of his later animation work.
