A pulmonary agent (or choking agent) is a chemical weapon agent designed to impede a victim's ability to breathe, resulting in suffocation.

Examples of pulmonary agents include:

• chlorine gas
• chloropicrin (PS)
• diphosgene (DP)
• phosgene (CG)
