Patrick Smith

Paddy Smith was a senior Irish politician. He was first elected to Dáil Éireann in 1923 as a Republican TD for Cavan. He was a founder-member of Fianna Fáil in 1926. He retained his Dáil seat until 1977 when he retired from politics. Smith served as a Cabinet Minister until 1964 when he resigned in protest.
