Muneeza Shamsie is a Pakistani writer and freelance journalist. She was born in Lahore and educated in England. She lives in Karachi and regularly contributes to the Dawn newspaper on literary affairs.

Despite writing short stories, Ms Shamsie's acclaimed works are her compilation of the works of Pakistani writers who are writings in English. 'A Dragonfly in the Sun' ISBN 0 19 577784 0 got published in 1997 and in 2001 'Leaving Home' ISBN 0 19 579529 6 was appreciated at large. She is the mother of famous young Pakistani novelist Kamila Shamsie.
