The Mosque of Abraham massacre occurred on February 25th, 1994 in the West Bank city of Hebron when Baruch Goldstein, an Israeli extremist, entered the Ibrahimi Mosque and opened fire with an automatic weapon, killing 29 Palestinian civilians and injuring many more before other worshippers beat him to death in order to stop the attack.

Aftermath

• The attack led to rioting in which 26 more Palestinians and 9 Israelis were killed.
• Palestinians have being prevented from entering the area by the IDF following revenge attacks as part of the Intifada uprising.
