Marton is a small town outside Middlesbrough in Yorkshire, England. Captain James Cook was born here in 1728. Attractions include Stewart Park , a large, public nature reserve in which thrive several varieties of wild species, including the rabbit, bird, and squirrel. Stewart Park is also home to the Cook Birthplace Museum . In addition to viewing the large collection of Cook related objects at the museum, tourists interested in Cook can visit a granite urn erected in 1858 on the site of the demolished Cook cottage and St. Cuthbert's Church were Cook was baptized.
