The Magsaysay award is given in honor of the late President of the Philippines Ramon Magsaysay. Every year the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation gives away prizes to Asian individuals and organizations for achieving excellence in their respective fields. The awards are given in five categories

- Public Service
- Community Leadership
- Journalism, Literature and Creative Communication arts
- Peace and International Understanding
