Jackowo ( pronounced yahtskovo ) which means Hyacinth in Polish is one of Chicago's largest and most
vibrant Polish neighborhoods. The neighborhood is gets its name from Saint Hyacinth
basilica at 3636 West Wolfram Street. Milwaukee Avenue is the main strip with
dozens of sausage shops, restaurants, bakeries etc. This area is sometimes called Polish Village.
