I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here! is a Reality TV show that puts a group of famous faces into the Australian jungle for two weeks. The viewing public vote to decide who should face gruesome "Bushtucker Trials " and ultimately who stays in camp and who wins. A percentage of the money raised through phone, text and interactive TV voting is donated to charities chosen by each participant.
In the UK the show has had four series and has become one of the most popular reality shows on televsion. The show runs for two weeks, in the first the public decides which celeb or celebs should complete Bushtucker Trials to earn food for the camp (represented through the collection of stars during the trial). Each star earned is rewarded with one meal to camp although basic rations of rice and beans are supplied as staples. Trials usually involve snakes, spiders, rats, heights and various forms of filth . Some maybe physical while others are more mentally demanding, either way they are no "walk in the jungle" for the contestants. In the second week the campmates themselves have to nominate one member to take part in the Trial each day as the voting public no longer get to decide as they vote for who they want to stay in the camp the most. The celeb with the least votes each night (or morning to those in the Australian jungle camp) has to leave and is interviewd by show hosts Ant and Dec.
The most popular contestant at the end of the two weeks is crowned King or Queen of the Jungle and walks away with the largest cash some for their chosen charity. The format of the show has also been sold to the USA and Germany where it became "Ich Bin Ein Star - Holt Mich Hier Raus !"
