Home of the Underdogs

Home of the Underdogs (abbr. HotU) saw its first incarnation in September 1998, and has grown to be the largest popularly known abandonware site on the Internet. As of 2004, it offers reviews for over 5000 games as well as downloads for many games that are no longer available for purchase. Most games available on the site are for the PC (Personal Computer), but it also boasts a considerable non-PC section.

HOTU was founded by Sarinee Achavanuntakul . Although often viewed simply as an abandonware site, it is better described as a museum for both old games, and great games that never received due attention upon their initial releases (the "underdogs" referred to in the name). They are also notable because when or if a game becomes sold again, they take down the download and link to the site selling the game.

The site features an active member community, including an internet forum and an IRC channel; #underdogs at EFnet.
