Henry Williams

Henry Williams was one of the many European Missionaries that arrive in New Zealand, in an attempt to bring Christianity to the Maori people. On February, 1840 he translated "Treaty of waitangi" into Maori along with some help with his son Edward. Henry Williams used what is known to be as "Missionary Maori", which are not traditional Maori, but made up by the missionairies. By doing so he confused the Maori by some wording.
