Hellyer College is one of eight secondary education colleges in Tasmania, Australia. Established in 1976, it provides academic and vocational training to around 900 students taken from a catchment area of Burnie and the surrounding thinly populated north western region of the island, including King Island, Wynyard and Smithton. Hellyer College was named after Henry Hellyer, who was an explorer in north west Tasmania during the 1820s.
Hellyer is the only public college catering for years 11 and 12 in Burnie, competing with Marist Regional College (a Catholic school) for students. It is situated near the North-west campus of the University of Tasmania, on Mooreville Road.
