Green Carnation is a Norwegian progressive metal (more "progressive" than "metal") band, the creation of ex-Emperor bass player Tchort and formed in 1990. The band took a long hiatus after recording a demo, and their first album, Journey to the End of the Night , wasn't recorded until 1999. 2001 saw the release of Light of Day, Day of Darkness , notable because it consists of only a single, 60-minute song. In 2003 Green Carnation released A Blessing in Disguise .
