Gokstad Ship

The Gokstad was a Viking ship found in a King's burial mound in 1880 in an excavation led by Nicolay Nicolyasen . The ship can now be seen at the Oslo viking ship museum. The ship was probably built around the year 890, had room for 32 oars and could take 70-80 men. There are several replicas of the Gokstad ship including Sigrid Storråda.
