Give 'Em Enough Rope is The Clash's second album. It was released in 1978 by CBS Records. After the success of The Clash, expectations were high, and, when released, Give 'Em Enough Rope was treated harshly by the critics. It has since become the most obscure of the band's albums, although some of its songs remain fairly popular among the group's fans. Give 'Em Enough Rope also shows how the band was developing musically, heading away from the straight punk of "White Riot" or "I'm So Bored with the U.S.A.", and moving toward the diversity of London Calling.
