Gina G (born 3 August 1970 in Queensland, Australia) is an Australian pop star that first hit to fame in the 1996 Eurovision song contest when she came 7th with her song "Ooh Ahh... Just A little Bit". However when she released the single in the United Kingdom, the country she represented in the contest, it went to number one in the charts. It also had continued success across the world.
After a few years away from the camera she came back to public attention in March 2003, when she took part in the reality televison show Reborn in the USA, alongside the likes of Sonia, Michelle Gayle, Tony Hadley, Peter Cox and Elkie Brooks. Even though she received the most votes from the American audience and won the first show, she unfortunately got the least in the next show and went up for the British public's vote and sadly lost and was eliminated from the show in the third programme.
On 4 February 2005, an announcement finally confirmed the persistent rumours that Gina was in the running to represent the UK for a second time at the Eurovision Song Contest. On 5 March 2005, she competed against Katie Price, a fellow reality TV star and one of Britain's most successful topless models, as well as Javine, Andy Scott-Lee and the group Tricolore in Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up to represent the UK. A public vote chose Javine as the winner, with Gina G receiving the fewest votes.
Gina G's real full name is Gina Mary Gardiner. She married Charlie Watson on 7th December 2003.
