Sir George Young, 6th Baronet

Sir George Young, 6th Baronet (born July 16, 1941) is an English politician, and Tory member of Parliament for Hampshire North West. He is a patron of the Tory Reform Group.

He entered Parliament in the 1974 election, as the MP for Ealing Acton and retained the position until 1997, when the constituency ceased to exist due to boundary changes. He served as a minister under Margaret Thatcher and John Major and was Secretary of State for Transport from 1995 to 1997, where he oversaw the privatisation of British Rail. He is a One Nation Tory , and was in William Hague's shadow cabinet until 2000.
