George Fried

George Fried was an American sea captain. He commanded the passenger liner President Roosevelt of the United States Lines during the famous rescue of the crew of the French ship Antinoe in the Atlantic Ocean in January 1926.

On February 16, 1926, he and his crew were honored with ticker-tape parade in New York City for their heroism.
