Frank McGee (hockey)

Frank McGee was a legendary ice hockey player during the early days of professional hockey. He championed the Stanley Cup many times, being the leader of the Ottawa Senators. Often scoring many goals in a single game, McGee once scored 14 goals in a 23-2 victory over the team from Dawson City. The Dawson City team was hindered from being 23 days on the road to arrive in Ottawa. McGee was also known as "One-Eyed McGee" after losing use of one of his eyes during a game. He never got to play in the NHL, enlisting in the military in World War I and dying at the Battle of the Somme.
