Francisco Gabilondo Soler (1907, Orizaba - 1990, Texcoco) was a composer of children's songs, who became very famous by broadcasting a radio show for many years aimed at kids for which he created a character named Cri-Cri El Grillito Cantor (Cri Cri The Singing Cricket). His songs are quite famous throughout Latin America. Before his death, he participated in a memorial concert with Eugenia León , and he sang Bombón 1º, El ropero and La merienda. Gabilondo's songs were also recorded by the opera singer Plácido Domingo and the French singer Mireille Mathieu among other world-famous performers. He recorded Cri-Cri por el mundo (Cri-Cri for the world), and Serie Platino.
