Duratorq is the marketing name of a range of Ford Diesel engines first introduced in 2000 for the Ford Mondeo range of cars. Codenamed "Puma" during its development, the Duratorq range replaced the older Endura unit which had been around since 1984.
Further units in this range have been development in conjunction with Peugeot. These engines are therefore available in Ford, Peugeot and Citroën vehicles. They are given different names by the PSA group.
Straight-4
Duratorq 2.0
Initially available as a 2.0 litre turbo diesel with direct injection and a variable geometry turbine with overboost function. It was soon upgraded to common rail fuel injection.
DLD-414
The Duratorq DLD-414 is a 1.4 L straight-4 turbo-Diesel. Output is 50 kW (67 hp) at 4500 rpm and 160 Nm (117 ft.lbf) at 2000 rpm.
DLD-418
The Duratorq DLD-414 is a 1.8 L (1753 cc) version of the DLD-414. Output is 85 kW (114 hp) at 3800 rpm and 250 Nm (184 ft.lbf) at 1850 rpm.
