Flatulence tax

Flatulence Tax was the name of a tax proposed in New Zealand to assist with compliance with the Kyoto Protocol.

The tax targeted the release of methane by farmed animals. In New Zealand over 50% of the greenhouse gas emissions come from farm animals.
