The Flame of Liberty (Flamme de Liberté) is a full size, gold leaf covered, replica of the flame carried in the hand of the Statue of Liberty in New York City. The Flame was erected at the time of the restoration of the Statue of Liberty in 1987. It is located near the northern end of the Pont de l'Alma bridge on the Place de l'Alma .

For several years the public placed messages of condolence for Diana, Princess of Wales around its base because the memorial is very close to the tunnel where she died. The messages have now been removed.
