Fatima Bhutto (born 29 May 1982) is a young poet who came to fame after the appearance of her first book, Whispers of the Desert. She was only 15 when this book was published. She is the daughter of the late Mir Murtaza Bhutto , who was allegedly murdered by security forces during the premiership of his own sister, Benazir Bhutto. Fatima's book of poems is about this part of the tragedies of the Bhutto family. Fatima is the granddaughter of Pakistan's most charismatic leader and former prime minister, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who was convicted of murder and hanged by the former dictator General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq. Fatima is a student at Columbia University in the United States.
