Eurovision Song Contest 2002

The Eurovision Song Contest 2002 was the 47th Eurovision Song Contest and was held on May 25, 2002 in Tallinn, Estonia. The presenters were Annely Peebo and Marko Matvere. Marie N was the winner of this Eurovision for Latvia with the song "I wanna".

For 2002 the European Broadcasting Union reverted to the simple system used in 1994 and 1995 to determine which countries would participate in the contest. The lowest-placed countries (not counting France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom, who were granted automatic entry as payers of the highest EBU subscriptions) from the preceding year were excluded, omitting so many countries as was necessary to reduce the number of participants to 25.

Each Country had a Jury who awarded 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points for their top ten songs. Or a televote, where the top ten most voted for songs were awarded the 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 points. Or a 50:50 mixture of both.
