The European Young Conservatives is a grouping of youth wings of right of center political parties, usually with a Eurosceptic bias.
Founded by the former national chairman of the UK's Young Conservatives, Andrew Rosindell, following a split in the center-right Democrat Youth Community of Europe (DEMYC) which split into two factions, the main one following a broadly Christian Democratic philosophy and the smaller one, led by Rosindell following a broadly Conservative philosophy. Two crucial points of disagreement were the scope of free market reforms and the desireability of a federal Europe.
The group attracted controversy by affiliating with Azione Giovani , the youth wing of the hardline conservative and formerly fascist Italian party Alleanza Nazionale. The Conservative MP Bill Cash addressed a European Young Conservatives meeting in 1998 in Italy hosted by Azione Giovani.
