Esbjerg is a municipality in south-west Denmark, in the county of Ribe on the peninsula of Jutland. The municipality covers an area of 221 km², and has a total population of 82,949. Large transport knot (rail and highways); sea (center for danish offshore activities in the North Sea) port; airport. Center of machine building; museums, theatres (operas also of ballet, drama), library.
