Enumerative

Enumerative organisation is a common way to order lists of items. It may be by value, date, weight, size etc. In the human context we may apply this description to ancient hierarchies where age was the only attribute considered when ordering the importance of members of a community. It did not necessarily mean that the more honoured members were the decision makers or the more powerful, simply that they enjoyed a status due to the number of years they had been alive on the planet.
