The Sonic the Hedgehog universe has several minor characters:
Bean the Dynamite

Bean likes to throw bombs at his enemies. The character was modeled after Bin and Pin, two characters in the arcade game Dynamite Dux .
He has also starred in Fighters Megamix , along with Bark the Polarbear .
Charmy Bee
From the Sonic the Hedgehog video games.
In the video games, he was first a 16-year old, but was later converted to an extremely hyperactive 6-year old bee. His first appearance was in the Sega 32X video game Knuckles' Chaotix, where he was labled as 16. He has also appeared in the video game Sonic Heroes. He works in the Team Chaotix Detective Agency with members Espio the Chameleon and Vector the Crocodile as the flight member, and his age was changed to 6. He has the ability to warp between flowers.
In the Archie comics he is a sophisticated 18-year old prince and is married to a girl named Saffron.
Cheese the Chao
Chao from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe. He is a blue neutral chao; brother of Chocola and friend of Cream the Rabbit. He wears an orange bow tie.
Cheese's first appearance was in Sonic Advance 2 for the Game Boy Advance handheld console. In the game he is accompanied by Cream the Rabbit, and is a method of attack. He makes another appearance in the game Sonic Heroes, in which he follows Cream and helps her look for his brother, Chocola.
Cheese the Chao is also in the new TV cartoon, Sonic X although he is notably larger than his video game self.
E-103 Delta
One of the E-100 series robots designed by Dr. Eggman. Delta is colored blue and armed with two laser cannons. He is very dangerous. When Delta was sent away along with Epsilon and Zeta, he took one last sad look at his brother, E-102 Gamma. Later, Gamma found Delta stranded in Windy Valley. Gamma and Delta battled eachother, and Gamma managed to defeat Delta. Delta sadly vanished into the Sonic History by falling over and exploding. In the original Sonic Adventure, Delta's animal was a green flicky, but in Sonic Adventure DX, the animal has changed to a parrot.
E-104 Epsilon
One of Dr. Eggman's E-100 series robots. He is coloured orange. Epsilon was sent to retrieved a tailed frog from the wild, but got the wrong frog and was teleported to an unknown location along with Delta and Zeta. The next day, Gamma found E-104 Epsilon in a lava filled cave in Red Mountain. Epsilon proved to be a tough fight for Gamma, but he eventually succeed by shooting Epsilon down. The yellow flicky inside Epsilon managed to escape as Epsilon's body melted away into the lava.
E-105 Zeta
One of Dr. Eggman's E-100 series robots. Zeta is coloured purple. After being sent away for failing to get the correct frog by Dr. Eggman, Zeta was built into a cannon with five laser guns built in. Gamma fought Zeta in the Hot Shelter, onboard the Egg Carrier. Gamma defeated Zeta and released the animal inside him.
On Sonic X, Beta replaced much of Zeta's role. So much, in fact, that Zeta only appears on the show in Episode 31, "Revenge of the Robot", when Gamma comes to the Hot Shelter to destroy him.
Espio the Chameleon
Character in the Sonic the Hedgehog universe who has appeared in several video games. He is a member of the Chaotix group.
Espio is a 16-year-old chameleon. He is a calm, disciplined detective and ninja who works with Charmy Bee and Vector the Crocodile as the team's speed member.
He first appeared in the 32X game Knuckles' Chaotix. He later appeared in the arcade game Sonic the Fighters (Sonic Championship). He most recently appeared in the 2003 game Sonic Heroes.
In the comic, Espio is a bonafide hothead, which causes friend Charmy to remind him of his manners.
Mighty the Armadillo
Character in the Sonic the Hedgehog Universe. He is a member of the Chaotix group.
He has only appeared in two video games. His first was the arcade game Segasonic the Hedgehog alongside Sonic and Ray the Squirrel. His second was the 32X game Knuckles' Chaotix.
He did not appear with his fellow team mates in the game Sonic Heroes.
Some video game lore has him as a calm, gentle pacifist, whereas comics may represent him as somewhat hotheaded and rude.
Ray the Squirrel
Character in the Sonic the Hedgehog universe. He has only appeared in one video game, the arcade game Segasonic the Hedgehog with Sonic and Mighty the Armadillo. Also known as Ray the Flying Squirrel.
In the comic continuity, Ray was kidnapped by Dr. Robotnik as a part of Robotnik's robot replication program along with Fiona Fox. Though his rescue was attempted by his teammates Sonic the Hedgehog and Mighty the Armadillo, they were forced to escape without him. He was later rescued by Fiona and his old partner, Mighty , along with the brother / sister bounty hunter team of Nack the Weasel and Nic the Weasel. He has since returned to Angel Island with Mighty and has joined the Chaotix (along with Espio the Chameleon, Vector the Crocodile, and Julie-Su the Echidna). After the return of Charmy Bee and his fiance Safron Bee to the Chaotix team, Ray accompanied them, along with Sonic and Knuckles, to join forces with a mysterious group known as the Dark Legion, to fight off Robotnik and his ally General Sage, and return Angel Island to it's free state once again.
Tikal
Tikal is a female Echidna character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. She is from the same tribe that Knuckles is decended from. She debuted in Sonic Adventure.
She first lived thousands of years ago, but she was brought forward in time when she sealed Chaos in the Master Emerald to prevent him from destroying the world. Unfortunetly, she was accidently sealed in as well. In the emerald, no time passed for Chaos and Tikal, who were inside it. After thousands of years go by, Eggman smashes the Master Emerald to release Chaos so Chaos can help him take over the world. In the game (Sonic Adventure), she appears as a little ball of light in every stage and area when you need help. She also transports the character you are playing as to the past at certain times to show you what happened at the time when the Echidnas discovered Chaos, the Emeralds and the Chao.
She also appears in Sonic Adventure 2: Battle as a 2P extra character in Treasure Hunting. In the SA2 for Dreamcast, you can obtain her for the 2P mode by getting all A ranks in Knuckles' stages.
Vanilla the Rabbit
Vanilla the Rabbit is introduced as Cream the Rabbit's mother in Sonic Advance 2. Dr. Eggman kidnaps Vanilla and she is rescued by Super Sonic. In Sonic X, Vanilla was seperated from her daughter when Cream was kidnapped by Dr Eggman. Vanilla shows up with the Chaotix team of Vector, Charmy, and Espio, when they went looking for Cream and Sonic. Tracking down the speedy hedgehog, they find him and his friends at the mansion of Chris Thorndyke. The staff at the mansion meet Vanilla for the first time, and Cream is happy to see her mom. Cream stays with her mom throughout the new episodes, helping her with meals as she did with Ella and Amy at the mansion.
