DUPLO was a form of LEGO targeted at children ages 1 1/2 to 5 years old. It was essentially a giant version of the famous Danish toy with pieces much larger than traditional LEGO - therefore safer for younger children as they are unable to swallow the pieces. In 2002 it was replaced by LEGO EXPLORE , a brand covering all pre-school activities.
