Disciplina

In Roman mythology, Disciplina was the personification of discipline.

She was commonly worshipped by Imperial Roman Soldiers. Her meaning to them was both discipline as in self-control and determination,as well as discipline as in a field of study (soldiering in this case). Her chief virtues were: Frugalis, Severitas & Fidelis. A soldier should be frugal, this means in every way, with money, with energy, with actions. A soldier should be severe, this means focused, determined, not easily disuaded, decisive. A soldier should be faithful, presumably to his unit, his army, the officers and the people of Rome.
