Daniyal Akhmetov (born 1954) is the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan since June 2003, replacing Imangali Tasmagambetov. Akhmetov is an ethnic Russian. He had been deputy prime minister before becoming prime minister. He had previously been Governor of Pavlodar Oblast . He managed to push through the land reform bill his predecessor had resigned over.
