Dalecarlian language

The Dalacarlian language is traditionally grouped as a dialect of Swedish language but it could rather be considered as an own language. There are about 3,000 peoples speaking it in Dalecarlia. It contains new diphthongs (which are [or were] common in Swedish dialects) but also grammars from old Norse that no other Nordic languages have. The language is not recognized as a separate language under the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages.
